LIBYAN PROTEST AT LOCKERBIE VERDICT
TRIPOLI, Carrying anti-U.S. banners, 5,000 people marched to U.N. offices saturday in protest at the conviction of a Libyan intelligence agent in the Lockerbie trial in Scotland in 1988. The explosion killed 270 people. During the protest three men stabbed themselves, but reporters and witnesses saw only one man being taken to an ambulance, leaving a pool of blood on the street.
