The American colossus General Electric has taken over the aerospace activities of Smiths Aerospace Group for USD 4,8 billion. The merge of the aeronautical activities of GE have recorded a turnover equal to EUR 10,2 billion and 26.800 employees, while Smiths Aerospace counts 11.000 workers and a turnover of EUR 2,4 billion in 2006.
