NP-32 Polar station's Russian researchers are safe

Moscow, Russia - Two helicopters succeeded in landing on the ice

Twelve researchers of the NP-32 Artic station which sank in 30 minutes last March 6 are safe (see for details AVIONEWS). A Mi-26 Halo helicopter and a Mi-8 Hip succeeded in flying over this area after weather conditions had prevented any rescue attempt during previous days. These choppers were able to land on the ice though their crews were worried, while the researchers escaped to such a disaster...
