JAPAN'S DEFENSE AGENCY FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST MITSUBISHI
JAPAN, The agency demamded the company to pay $10,66 million as compensation for the accident occurred to a SH60J helicopter during a military exercise at a U.S. base in Hawaii in 1996. A rotor suddenly broke off and the helicopter burst into flames. Eight people were injured. An agency investigation concluded in July 1999 that the accident was due to faulty metal parts. Mitsubishi refused.
