Compensation agreed for the families of the UTA crash victims

Paris, France - USD 1m per family

Guillame Denoix de Saint-Marc, spokesman for the families of 177 DC-10 UTA victims crashed in the Niger desert (see AVIONEWS), has announced that today in Paris the compensation has been fixed. Each family will receive USD 1m, divided into four installments; Lybia has to pay now USD 42.5m in total and the rest within the next 6 moths.
