Rome, Italy - He expresses his condolences
The U.S. ambassador in Italy, Mel Sembler, made a telephone call to the Italian minister of Defence, Antonio Martino, and to the Foreign Affairs minister, Franco Frattini, to express his deepest condolences on the tragic event in Iraq. The condolences have also been expressed to the Italian president Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and to the prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
