China: first cosmonaut in the space
Beijing, China - Carried out the launch of Shenzou-5 (heavenly ship)
At 9am local time the launch of the spaceship Shenzou-5 (as issued by AVIONEWS), according to what has been confirmed by the Chinese state television, Cctv, and by the official agency Xinhua (New China). So China becomes the third country, after the former URSS and USA, to launch a man to the orbit. The name of the first cosmonaut is Yang Li Wei, a 38 year-old army pilot, who is in charge of Shenzou-5....
