Madrid, Spain - Air company's board accepted Irala's resignation

After 7 years as Iberia's Chairman, Xabier de Irala will leave the air company, after the June 12 annual shareholders meeting. News has been confirmed by Spanish carrier. Iberia's board accepted Irala's resignation at an extraordinary meeting Friday. He will be replaced by Fernando Conte, an independent director on the Iberia board since March 2001 and Ceo of the Spanish unit of ABB. (0035)
