Today, the Us air carrier Southwest Airlines Co. announced to have flown 4,3bn revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in August 2002, compared to 4,4bn RPMs flown in August 2001. Also in August, Southwest available seat miles (ASMs) increased 3,5% to 6bn in comparison with August 2001, when in fact it registered a 5,8bn ASMs. The load factor for the month was 72,7%, compared to 75,8% for August 2001.
