New European meteorological satellite will be launched on August 27
Kourou, French Guyane - 25 years after the first Meteosat, new instruments will enhance the study of the atmosphere
MSG-1, the new meteorological satellite will be put in orbit, 25 years after the first Meteosat, by Ariane 5 rocket in the night of 27/28 August. Built by Alcatel Space, thanks to new instruments, it will revolutionize the way scientists observe the atmosphere. The launch will take place at Europe's Space Port in Kourou at 19:30 hrs Kourou time. (009)
