Police in former Kazakh capital to get helicopters

Almaty, Kazakhistan - Two Mi-35s starting from next August

Starting from August 2002, Kazakh police will use two Mi-35 helicopters to patrol the former capital Almaty. The helicopters would be equipped with video and communication systems. The administration of Almaty allocated about 820,000 dollars for the purchase of helicopters and the construction of hangars and five helicopter pads. (004)
