Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany - The German-American planemaker is in bankruptcy protection
Fairchild Dornier, the German-American short-haul aircraft maker, announced job cuts between 800 and 1200 out of 3600 in Germany and 300 out of 700 in the US due to its insolvency. The hope to solve its crisis vanished yesterday when Bombardier, the world's third largest aeronautical manufacturer, decided not to proceed any further with Fairchild Dornier’s 728/928 aircraft programs.
