Paris, France - Because of fuel burn shortfalls

According to Gerhard Puttfarcken, vice president at Airbus Single Aisle Program, Pratt & Whitney PW6000 powered-by A318s will not be in service before 2005. For Puttfarcken in fact the reason must be looked for in fuel burn shortfalls shown by the engine which force Pratt & Whitney to work to meet guarantees. (m/cesn)
