Ukraine wants to become a member of Nato

Kiev, Ukraine - Official announcement next July 9

According to Ukraine Chief of Staff of Defence Yevhen Marchuk, ex Ussr republic president Leonid Kuchma is likely to sign a formal request to enter Nato. "It's crucial to develop a long-term strategy, at the end of which Ukraine will be able to enter the common defence system on which Nato relies on", stated Yevhen Marchuk.
