An Italian F-104 crashed in The Netherlands

Leewarden, The Netherlands - Pilot got seriously injured

An Italian F-104 Starfighter plummetted today as it was landing at the Leewarden airbase airport, The Netherlands. Pilot, seriuosly injured, has been promptly hospitalized. The combat aircraft was part of 4-plane squadron which, departed from Belgium and after a technical stop in Leewarden, was supposed to head to North Sea and carry out a military exercise. (m/cesn)
