TRANSBRASIL GROUNDED FOR UNPAID FUEL BILLS
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL, According to Brazilian civil aviation sources, domestic airline Transbrasil, has been grounded after failing to meet its fuel bills. Fuel suppliers refused to re-fill Transbrasil planes, as the airline has debts with them for many USD million. Tranbrasil cut its fleet from 32 to only nine aircraft and laid about 4000 workers.
