EAGAN, USA, Northwest Airlines announced it is to furlough other 47 pilots on January 2. The carrier already laid off 45 pilots in September and October. Northwest spokesman Kurt Ebenhoch said passenger loads continue to increase and were not a factor in the accelerated layoffs. The airline's planes flying domestic routes and across the Atlantic were 72% filled in November.
