US AIRPORTS FAR FROM BEING SECURE

NEW YORK, The Transportation Department's inspector general, Kenneth Mead, told a Senate hearing that some 90 incidents have been identified at US airports regarding poor security practices. The use of explosive detection systems and random checks of passengers were reported to be almost inconsistent.
