PIPER CRASHES IN CANADA
FORT LIARD, CANADA, A Piper Chieftain carrying five members of the aborigenal group Deh Cho community and the pilot returning from a ceremony formalizing a northern pipeline deal in Yellowknife, crashed near the Fort Liard airport on a sand bar near the confluence of the Liard and Pettitot Rivers. Three members were killed. There was heavy snow and fog when the plane went down.
