BA TO CUT 7000 JOBS
LONDON, British Airways announced today it will axe 7000 jobs and reduce operations by 10%. The airline's chief executive Rod Eddington said "we face exceptional conditions which have forced us to take very tough decisions". In addition, the company will withdraw six Boeing 767s and four narrow-bodied aircraft from the short-haul operation an other ten planes from the long-haul fleet.
