LIGHTING KNOCKS OUT RADAR AT BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON AIRPORT
BALTIMORE, A lightning strike yesterday knocked out the primary radar at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. The radar system didn't work for five minutes, said Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Salac. Some flights were delayed, but air-traffic controllers remained in contact with planes.
