QANTAS TO LAUNCH NEW LOW-COST AIRLINE
AUSTRALIA, Australian Qantas will launch a new low-cost airline next year. The new carrier, to be called Australian Airlines, will fly to destinations such as Shanghai, China, and Fukuoka and Sapporo, Japan. Geoff Dixon, Qantas' ceo, said the airline will not begin operations before the second half of 2002.
