NORTHWEST AIRCRAFT MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING

TOKYO, A Northwest 747 en route to Los Angeles made an emergency landing at Tokyo's international airport after reporting a problem in the engine number 3. The airport was closed briefly for inspection and the plane took off after being repaired. No passenger or crew member was hurt, said Northwest Airlines spokeswoman Tamiko Kuniyoshi.
