Chavez buys armaments in Russia for USD 3bn

Moscow, Russia - Agreement for 30 Sukhoi 30 fighters and 50 MI helicopters

The Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, on diplomatic tour in Moscow, reached an agreement with Vladimir Putin to buy thirty Sukhoi 30 and fifty MI combat helicopters from Russia. The contract value is extimated around USD 3bn. In addition, other orders should follow for TOR-MI earth-air missiles, guard ships and an Amur-class submarine. Russia will also build in Venezuela a factory for Kalashnikov...
