AIR PACIFIC: HEAVY LOSSES IN THE YEAR 2000
FIJI ISLANDS, Air Pacific, Fiji's international carrier, recorded a loss of $40 million in the year 2000. It was a big turnaround from the 30 million profit reported in 1999. The loss is due to the political turmoils occurred during and after the coupe of Geroge Speight. Australia Qantas holds a 47% stake in Air Pacific.
