British Airways: profits decreasing in 2005 third quarter

London, Great Britain - Union's protests and higher oil costs caused the drop

British Airways posted a light drop of 24% in its second-quarter net profit. Operational income is on the up grade but costs are in a perpetual increase due to higher oil costs which forced the British carrier to boost its fuel surcharge six times filling short-haul flights operated both by Ryanair and easyJet.
