Starlink launch scheduled for today, April 1st: new constellation in orbit
It will provide broadband internet connectivity globally

After successfully launching the "Fram2" mission into a polar orbit last night local time (see AVIONEWS), SpaceX is preparing for the launch of a new group of Starlink satellites, scheduled for today, April 1. The mission, which will also depart from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, will see a Falcon 9 rocket carry into orbit a load of satellites intended to expand the Starlink constellation, providing broadband internet connectivity globally.
The launch, which is part of the ongoing expansion of the Starlink network, aims to improve coverage and speed of service, especially in remote and poorly served areas. The countdown is underway, and weather conditions seem favorable for the launch. SpaceX has not yet released specific information on the number of satellites that will be launched. The Starlink mission, as usual, includes the reentry and landing of the Falcon 9 first stage on the floating platform.
This launch, like all launches in the Starlink constellation, is expected to take place in low Earth orbit.
