Cologne-Bonn Airport: the new Summer flight schedule

More than 100 destinations in over 30 Countries

Next Sunday (30 March) the new Summer flight schedule (valid until 26 October) starts at Cologne-Bonn Airport with a variety of popular holiday destinations and popular city connections, as well as numerous new destinations. Over the next few months, a total of 26 airlines will be offering flights to more than 100 destinations in over 30 countries around the world.

In the Summer flight schedule, the numerous airlines at Cologne-Bonn Airport offer a wide range of direct connections, tourist routes, destinations for family and friend visits, and connections to international hubs. Classic holiday regions are particularly well represented: a total of 15 different destinations in Italy are served from Cologne/Bonn, 13 in Turkey and 12 in Spain. Greece is also well represented in the flight schedule with eight routes. The most frequently flown beach destinations are Antalya in Turkey and the sunny Spanish island of Majorca. During the peak season, there are up to around 80 weekly departures from different airlines to both destinations.

In addition to proven classics, travellers can also look forward to new connections in the coming months. Eurowings –the market leader at the airport with 69 destinations in 23 countries– is providing no fewer than five new additions to the Summer flight schedule: The airline will be flying to sunny destinations such as Funchal on the Portuguese island of Madeira (from 3 April, Thursdays, Sundays), Bastia on the French island of Corsica (from 12 April, Wednesdays, Saturdays) and the Portuguese port city of Porto (from 1 May, Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays). It will also fly to Klagenfurt in Austria (from 2 May, Mondays and Fridays) and Erbil, the capital of the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq (from 7 May, Wednesdays).

Also new from Cologne/Bonn are the routes operated by Electra Airways to Varna (from 17 May, Tuesdays and Saturdays) and Burgas (from 19 May, Mondays and Thursdays) in Bulgaria, which are offered in cooperation with SunExpress. There are also two further capital city connections at the airport: FLYONE flies to Yerevan in Armenia in the Summer flight schedule (from 31 March, Mondays, Fridays), while the route to Pristina in Kosovo (from 6 April, Sundays) is served by GP Aviation.

In addition to new destinations, many airlines are increasing frequencies to popular tourist destinations. In its new Summer flight schedule, Eurowings is offering more flights to the Spanish destinations of Málaga, Alicante and Burgas, to Thessaloniki and Heraklion in Greece, and to Olbia on the Italian island of Sardinia. There are also more flights to Turkey, with SunExpress flying even more frequently to Antalya in the future.

Cologne-Bonn Airport also offers close connections to international hubs. There are several flights a day to the hubs in Munich, Istanbul, London-Heathrow, Vienna and Zurich.
