Purchase proposals for Gesap (Palermo): there are reportedly four groups in the field

Even international investors are banking on the attractiveness of its airport, which is growing rapidly

According to confidential rumours that reached AVIONEWS, there are four offers for the purchase of Gesap, the company that manages Palermo airport (Sicily), advanced by four groups:

- One from Argentina: no details on the composition of this group were provided.

- A second and a third would come from two major European airport operators, namely the managers of the Paris (Aeroports de Paris) and Amsterdam (Schiphol Group) airports.

- A fourth from AdR, Aeroporti di Roma, the company that manages the airports of Rome-Fiumicino and Rome-Ciampino.

At the moment, no further details are available on the offers presented. The final decision will be up to the board of the Chamber of Commerce of Palermo and Enna, which holds a share of shares in Gesap.

It is important to highlight that Palermo Airport has recorded significant growth in passenger traffic in recent years, also exceeding one million passengers for the second consecutive month in August 2024. This makes the airport an attractive asset for investors.

Nothing is easier than that, if the sale of the Palermo airport is concluded, that one of the other Sicilian airports will follow with a domino effect.
