Moscow: rumors about private jet landing at Vnukovo from Washington

Raised speculation about links to plane used by Trump in first term as US president

A private plane landed at Moscow's Vnukovo airport from Washington on Thursday morning, fueling speculation about possible ties to Steve Witkoff, a prominent figure and special envoy to the Middle East for Donald Trump during his first term as US president. Sources including Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels reported the arrival of a Gulfstream G-650ER aircraft identified as N103WG, owned by Wg Aviation III LL, a company linked to Witkoff, and remembered in the past for having been used by Trump.

The Kremlin, through its spokesman Dmitry Peskov, promptly denied any contact with the envoy, stressing that the Russian authorities have no plans for any official communication with Steve Witkoff, calling him “one of Trump’s closest associates” in his first term. In a briefing with journalists, Peskov commented on the rumors, reiterating that there is no official involvement with the person in question.

In parallel, the Russian civil aviation agency Rosaviatsiya, told "Tass" that the flight in question was defined as a "technical flight", part of the usual humanitarian cooperation operations between Washington and Moscow. These statements contrast with the initial hypotheses spread by some Russian and international media, which had linked the plane to possible diplomatic missions or contacts of a strategic nature.

On the international front, outlets such as "The Telegraph" and "Bloomberg" have reported that the United States is working on a peace plan to end the conflict in Ukraine. Keith Kellogg, the American president's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, has reportedly temporarily suspended the aforementioned plan to start talks with NATO allies. "Bloomberg" expects that Kellogg will soon present Trump with several options for a peace plan, while the executive is planning meetings with European leaders and a visit to Kiev, but does not plan a stop in Moscow.

In this context, the technical flight to Moscow has a double meaning: on the one hand, it fits into the usual practice of humanitarian cooperation between the United States and Russia; on the other, it fuels further speculation at a time when international diplomacy is particularly tense. In short, while Russian authorities continue to deny any involvement of Witkoff in official missions to Moscow, the debate remains open...
