Cecilia Sala returns home (2): Meloni and Tajani welcome her
The Italian AMI C-130J aircraft will land at 3:30pm at Rome-Ciampino airport
The landing of the C-130J aircraft made available by the Air Force (AMI) for the repatriation of Italian compatriot journalist Cecilia Sala, detained in Iran since 19 December, the day of her arrest in a hotel in Tehran, is scheduled for around 3:30pm today at Rome-Ciampino airport.
Welcoming her in the military zone of the Roman airport were Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
Congratulations to the work of Prime Minister Meloni were expressed first and foremost by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. Among the voices raised in praise of the happy conclusion of the affair, there was also that of the Italian Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto: "Cecilia Sala was only doing her job; great team at the Farnesina, immense work by Meloni". Tajani echoed him: "We obtained results without talking, it was a great commitment".
