The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met yesterday with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, at Palazzo Chigi.

Their discussion focused on the main issues on the international agenda: from Russia’s aggression against Ukraine to the Middle East crisis, through to the situation in Venezuela.

During the meeting, the major issues at European level were also discussed, also in light of the conclusions of the European Council meeting of 17 October, starting with common management of the migration phenomenon.

Lastly, particular attention was paid to the revitalisation of the continent’s competitiveness, also ahead of the informal European Council meeting to be held in Budapest on 7-8 November.
