North Korea tests new type of tactical ballistic missile
Kim Jong-un's imperative: strengthen military self-defense capability
North Korea has recently tested a new type of tactical ballistic missile, according to the Korean agency "KCNA" unveiled it in the last days. Not only: it also tested an upgraded strategic cruise missile. The test-fire of the new type of tactical ballistic missile, called Hwasongpho-11-Da-4.5, was aimed at verifying its firing accuracy at a medium range of 320 km, and the explosive power of its payload, a 4.5-ton conventional warhead. In this context, a strategic cruise missile is also being tested, whose performance has been significantly improved for combat use.
Commenting with his usual emphasis on the event, the country's top leader Kim Jong-un said that the safety situation makes it imperative for the country to strengthen its military self-defense capacity. He stressed the need to continue to strengthen the national nuclear force. Not least, achieving greater military technical capacity and overwhelming offensive ability in the field of conventional weapons, in response to what he perceives as growing threats from foreign powers.
