Middle East: high tension Israel-Lebanon

Meloni: "Tel Aviv must not react militarily to provocations"

Tension remains high in the Middle East. Tonight, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) planes hit around ten Hezbollah targets in seven different areas of southern Lebanon. Yesterday Turkey threatened Tel Aviv in the event of a military operation in Lebanon, while today the Yemeni Houthis and Iran offered their support to Hamas. Meanwhile, the Italian Government invites Tel Aviv not to fall into the trap of military escalation.

"Every time we seem to be a little closer to the hypothesis of a ceasefire something happens. It means that there are various regional players who are aiming for an escalation and who always aim to force Israel into a reaction. I say this also to invite Israel not to fall into this trap", declared the President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, during her trip to China.
