Italy. Ancona Airport: among the top destinations
This was communicated by the German Lufthansa which monitors Summer tourism
The Italian "Raffaello Sanzio" international airport of Ancona-Falconara is among the top destinations in the world for the number of tourists transported by the German airline Lufthansa. The Marche region confirms itself as a particularly popular destination for France, Germany, Belgium and northern Europe. This year's objective for Ancona Airport could be to reach 750,000 transit passengers, claims the Marche Region.
"Lufthansa tells us that among their 220 destinations in the world, Marche is among the top five for percentage increase in bookings in the period between April and June. This indicates the continuously growing appeal of our Region, on an international scale, as well as to the intermodal functionality of the service", writes on social networks the president of the Marche Region, Francesco Acquaroli.
This is echoed by the managing director of the Marche airport, Alex D'Orsogna: "The important data is that since May and June there has been a significant increase in arrivals in the Marche region. An increase that has affected the United States and northern Europe , all transiting from Munich with Lufthansa. In particular, in the month of May 1000 passengers from the USA; 1200 Swedish tourists and just over 800 from Denmark.
