Boeing: Kelly Ortberg possible new CEO
Replacing the outgoing David Calhoun
In March 2024 Dave Calhoun, outgoing CEO of the US Boeing Group, announced his resignation by the end of the year. The board of directors of the company, specialized in the aerospace and defense sectors, began the search for a new CEO months ago. Now among the candidates who could take on this role is the name of Kelly Ortberg, former head of Rockwell Collins (now part of Collins Aerospace).
The specialized magazine "The Air Current" reported this, citing some industry experts as its source. The new CEO would lead a Group that is proceeding with a management reorganization which has currently seen Steve Mollenkopf become the new chairman of the board and Stephanie Pope take the helm of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Ortberg's name joins a list of other candidates for the CEO position at Boeing: among the most popular are Patrick Shanahan, current CEO and president of Spirit AeroSystems; and Stephanie Pope, Boeing's current chief operating officer.
