Contract signed for the modernization of the Brazilian air traffic control system
For two solutions developed by an Embraer Group's company
Embraer announced yesterday during the "Farnborough International Airshow" (July 22-26 in UK) a significant milestone for the future of Brazilian air traffic. Atech, an Embraer Group company specializing in systems engineering, as well as decision support and situational awareness technologies, has signed contracts with the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA).
The two new contracts, totaling USD 17 million, aim to modernize control centers and upgrade strategic solutions for the management of national airspace flow. The solutions, SAGITARIO and SIGMA, have both been developed by Atech in partnership with the Brazilian Airspace Control System Implementation Commission (CISCEA/DECEA).
SAGITARIO is an essential system for air traffic management throughout Brazil. Through its proven reliability and efficiency, the system processes data from various sources, such as radars and satellites, consolidating them into a single visual interface for air traffic controllers. This integrated view of the airspace enables faster and more accurate decision-making, ensuring the safety and smooth flow of air traffic.
SIGMA is a complete solution for air traffic flow management, which optimizes the management of air traffic information, flight plans, airway and airport capacities, in addition to distributing air traffic more efficiently.
The signing of these new contracts reinforces the long-standing partnership between Atech and DECEA, consolidating the company's position as a reference in the development of cutting-edge technological solutions for the Brazilian aviation sector.
