Emergency landing at Malpensa airport
No injuries among passengers or crewmembers
The commander of an A-319 aircraft, operated by the low-cost carrier easyjet, was forced to reverse course due to a technical fault and make an emergency landing at the departure airport in Italy. It happened today at dawn. The travellers were then boarded on another aircraft with which they reached their destination at 11:50 am.
According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, the easyJet plane took off from Italian Milan-Malpensa international airport at 7:09am today, Monday 22 July, and was headed to the "Karol Wojtyla" airport of Bari-Palese (flight EZY3523 ). Suddenly, for reasons still under investigation, approximately 30 minutes after departure, the pilot asked the control tower to reverse course and make an emergency landing at 08:31.
According to the online news site "Fanpage", which also spoke to the airline, "it would appear that there was a technical problem, specifically of a hydraulic nature". Once the aircraft landed in Milan, the company put the passengers on another flight. No injuries among passengers or crewmembers.
