Unmanned shuttles arrive at "John Fitzgerald Kennedy" international airport in New York. The new vehicles will allow passengers to reach the various terminals of the US airport after leaving their car parked in the car park. The service, currently free, will be active from mid-July 2024.

It was announced by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a joint venture between the States of New York and New Jersey for the management of a large part of the regional transport infrastructure located in the territories of the two countries. This is a pilot project which involves the commissioning of two autonomous shuttles, each capable of carrying up to a maximum of eight seated passengers.

The shuttles, owned by the New Zealand company Ohmio and entrusted to a third-party company external to the airport, should remain in service throughout the Summer of 2024. However, there will be security personnel on board who will welcome and guide passengers and will currently act as vehicle driver. The vehicles will connect Parking Lot 9 to the Lefferts Boulevard and Howard Beach AirTrain stations and the boarding area.
