A 24-hour national transport strike has been proclaimed in France for Wednesday 17 July 2024. The protest comes, not surprisingly, just nine days before the start of the Paris Olympic Games, which will be held from 26 July to 11 August 2024. The workers of the Aéroports de Paris (AdP) Group, the management company of the capital's three airports, will fold their arms.

The mobilization was called by the trade unions Confédération Générale du Travail (Cgt), by Confédération Française Démocratique du Travail (Cfdt), by Force Ouvrière (Fo) for cabin crew and Union Nationale des Syndicats Autonomes (Unsa). The workers' representatives are demanding that all staff, and not "just some members", receive a bonus for the extra work expected during the sporting event.

The protest will concern the two Parisian airports of Orly and "Charles de Gaulle", where the unions have denounced in a joint statement "a worsening of working conditions". The strike aims to put pressure on AdP and obtain a bonus for all staff, as well as the hiring of additional staff resources in view of the Olympics.
