The story of the alleged transit of armaments at the "Gabriele d'Annunzio" civil airport of Brescia-Montichiari arrives in Parliament. Last June 29, 2024, the Italian airport was the scene of a protest, called "Women walking for peace", organized by some pacifist and anti-militarist movements of civil society and by some political parties in front of the entrance to the airport. The "high risk for worker safety" is denounced.

"The airport workers are in a state of agitation to protest against the transit of weapons and armaments and how they do not want to be complicit in the wars underway in the world, refusing to participate in the transport of weapons on military flights disguised as civilian flights. They also denounce being subjected to the consequences of the Government's choices, while wages remain among the lowest in Europe, billions of Euros are spent on armaments, while healthcare and public services suffer unacceptable cuts", on read in the parliamentary act by the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra (Avs) party.

The text is signed by three parliamentarians: Tino Magni, Ilaria Cucchi, Giuseppe De Cristofaro. The question is directed to the Italian Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, and the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini. Avs party underlines the risk for airport workers who handle goods to work with war material:   explosives, bombs, missiles, heavy and light armaments.
