A maxi load of furniture and interior furnishings towards Equatorial Guinea
Desks, doors and other furniture and furnishings were transported from Genoa to Equatorial Guinea. In total 90 packages of various sizes for a total of 90 cubic meters of goods transported to the central African country. The flight was organized by Goas, the consortium company that brings together the freight forwarders based in the Ligurian capital, in recent days. A testimony of how the relaunch of the Italian "Cristoforo Colombo" airport also involves cargo.
"The airport can also function in support of the port of Genoa, with advantages both for the Italian system and for Europe as a whole. Furthermore, 'Colombo' can take advantage of the congestion of the large airports, first and foremost Malpensa (Italy), to acquire thanks to the physical and digital infrastructures, traffic volumes linked for example to fast fashion or e-commerce which today, to arrive in Italy, even land in Brussels", explains Andrea Giachero president of Spediporto, which in 2019 founded Goas together with 21 other freight forwarders.
The general director of Spediporto, Giampaolo Botta, echoes this: "Genoa can play a role in the development dynamics of air cargo thanks to some important peculiarities. It is flexible, has warehouse availability, has an landing strip that allows the arrival of any type of aircraft, has an adequate IT system and then, fundamentally, the organizational capacity".
