Salerno airport (Italy): taxi service ready

The first air connection is scheduled for July and the airport is preparing

Salerno is preparing for the operational return of the "Costa d'Amalfi" Italian airport in Pontecagnano. A flight to the French stopover of Nantes-Atlantique is scheduled for July 11, 2024, which will be operated by the Spanish low-cost airline Volotea, the first after years of closure. For the occasion, the Italian Municipality has set up a dedicated taxi service for the airport.

"During the interprovincial discussion with the other cities involved (Bellizzi and Pontecagnano which have already set up an ad hoc service) and with Salerno as the leading municipality, we decided on an experimental basis to provide taxis to the airport with an additional service", explained the municipal councilor for Commerce of Salerno, Dario Loffredo.

From 1 July 2024 to 31 October 2024, an experimental transport service will be active, allowing passengers to reach the airport starting from the center of Salerno, and vice versa. This is established by a specific resolution of the Italian municipal council. The plan involves two teams made up of 10 white cars for each time slot (from 7:00 to 3:00pm and from 3:00pm to 10:00pm) active along the route to and from the Campania airport.
