Italy. Trento: new helicopters for the firefighters

Two new Airbus Helicopters H-125 aircraft destined for the medical rescue service arrive in Trento (Italy). The two rotorcraft will replace the old Ecureuil 350B3 currently in use. The two unts will be operational starting from the second half of June 2024, when the preparation of the technical equipment necessary for civil protection operations on the provincial and Italian territory will be completed.
The two new helicopters landed yesterday at midday in Trento, after a flight from Marseille (France) that lasted approximately three hours. One of the rented Ecureuil 350/B3 aircraft will be decommissioned at the end of May, while the second owned one, which has reached 20 years of activity, will be decommissioned at the end of June 2024. In this way the Helicopter Unit of the Trento Fire Brigade will soon be able count on the youngest fleet in all of Italy.
The new H-125s will provide employees for firefighting operations, transport of material and territory surveillance, transport of personnel teams and various other civil defence activities. They will join a fleet currently made up of an AW-139 helicopter and two BK-117/D3 aircraft used for air rescue activities.
