Italy: Migliaro airport reopens in Lombardia
In the Cremona airport doors will open again on April 24, 2024
Cremona-Migliaro Italian airport will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday 24 April 2024. This concludes the authorization procedure by the competent bodies, which has come at the end of a closure period necessary to complete the works to extend the take-off and landing runway. A work that the area has been waiting for for at least 50 years.
"We consider ourselves an integral part of the city's tourism system. We have a twinning relationship with the city of Fussen in Germany and with its aeroclub. With them we have started to think in terms of tourist valorisation of the territory by engaging the Northern European market. There are thousands of who already practice this type of aero-tourism. We must be able to attract that public here not only in transit, but by offering packages to visit the city", explained the president of the Italian aeroclub, Aurelio La Monica, some time ago.
The certification of the 800 meters of asphalt is expected in the coming months. In the meantime, from tomorrow all airport users will be able to return to using the facilities and flying in complete safety. In these two months, the Cremona Aero Club says in a note, the priority has been the protection of all the associations, economic realities and jobs that gravitate around the structure.
