Class action against Israeli airline rejected
Consumers versus high prices of the national carrier El Al
Allegation that Israeli flag carrier El Al's ticket sales system unfairly applied higher fares was rejected. It is what ruled by Tel Aviv judges, according to which the class action brought against the company cannot be accepted. The airline communicated this, citing the decision taken by the judges in recent days.
The class action, filed in 2023, accused the ticketing system of creating potential damages of 40 million dollars. The accusation centered on the fact that, before the bulk purchase of tickets, the air carrier's sales system would have moved all fares to a higher price range. Consumers argued that multiple tickets cost much more than they would have paid if purchased individually.
