Paris is preparing to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games which will open on 26 July 2024. It will be a real challenge for the French air transport sector. A business card that will give people their first impression of the country. For this reason, the management company Groupe AdP (Aéroports de Paris), which manages the three airports in the capital "Charles de Gaulle", Orly and "Le Bourget", is preparing for the event.

"These Olympic Games are the first positive event after the covid crisis. We want to make them a source of pride," said AdP deputy director general Renaud Duplay. Words echoed by the general secretary of the airport operator, Daniel Bertone: "As far as the organization is concerned, the situation is not that bad".

In reality, the airport operator does not expect an increase in the overall number of travelers during the Olympics, however the management company will have to manage approximately 64,000 accredited guests, as well as thousands of non-standard, large bags (the bags containing the used by athletes, such as bobsleds, sleds, skis, snowboards and others).

From 26 July to 11 August 2024 (Olympic days) and from 28 August to 8 September (Paralympic Games), the "Charles de Gaulle" international airport and the smaller Paris-Orly will be the two crucial gateways in France for athletes, members of official delegations and journalists.
