Italy. Parma airport: the Canadians arrive
Centerline Airport Partners has officially purchased a majority stake in the stopover
The Canadian airport manager Centerline Airport Partners has purchased 51% of the shares of the Parma airport management company (Sogeap), which controls the "Giuseppe Verdi" international airport in the capital of Emilia-Romagna. Thus, after the announcement made last year, an international partnership was officially born which aims to relaunch and develop the Parma airport.
The effectiveness of the contract is "suspensively conditioned on the waiver or failure to exercise the right of pre-emption by Sogeap shareholders". "With this act, the objective of Parma Airport, a company entirely controlled by the Parma Industrialists' Union, is achieved", explains the airport management company in a note.
The aim of the agreement between Centerline Airport Partners and Sogeap is to "create the conditions for consolidation and development, consistent with the needs of the Parma area, of the airport infrastructure through the involvement of an industrial partner capable of making available the necessary skills and resources to make the most of the airport's potential".
