The Indian car company Maruti continues the development of eVtol (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) in collaboration with the Japanese company Suzuki. According to the latest rumors, these aircraft, called SkyDrive, would have a transport capacity of at least two passengers and a pilot. It is planned to start joint production by 2024.

It was revealed by the "Times of India" newspaper. The aim of the project is to take a leading role in the transition towards new future mobility solutions. The development plan for these eVtols envisages their initial diffusion in Japan, then in the United States and finally in India.

Maruti-Suzuki's SkyDrive aircraft are equipped with 12 rotors. Thanks to a take-off weight of just 1.4 tonnes, it can use building roofs for take-off and landing. Companies are currently conducting market research to identify potential customers and partners. These eVtols are expected to debut at the "Osaka Expo" which will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
