Turkish Airlines leases 10 planes
New B-737/800 aircraft in the fleet by 2025
The Emirati company Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (Dae), specialized in aviation services and aircraft leasing, announced in the last few hours that it has signed an agreement with the National flag carrier Turkish Airlines for the rental of 10 B-737/800 aircraft. Delivery of the airplanes is expected in 2025.
"We further deepen our already strong relationship with Turkish Airlines by providing them with a solution to their fleet's growing needs with fuel-efficient aircraft equipped with new technologies", said Firoz Tarapore, CEO of the leasing company, who did not hide his concerns about the problems reported on Boeing's B-737 Max planes.
Currently, the Turkish company manages a fleet of 440 planes: these include 115 B-737s, then 72 A-321/200s, also 56 A-321neos (plus 186 ordered), 36 A-330/300s and other models. In November 2023, Turkish Airlines revealed details of a plan to increase to around 200 B-737 fixed-wing aircraft in service within the next ten years.
